LECO Seminar: Instrumental Coal and Solid Biofuels Analysis

This three-day seminar will focus on instrumental methods of analysis and corresponding ASTM and ISO standards for coal, coke, and other solid fuels. Lectures will focus on the development of instrumentation from classical methods, comparison, and overall understanding of the role your LECO instrument plays within the specific ASTM and ISO standards listed below. Hands-on sessions will focus on developing and comprehending the methodologies used to improve and maintain analytical performance, as well as to meet compliance with the specific ASTM and ISO standards. The seminar will begin at 11:30 am on Monday, 24th September and conclude at approximately 1:00 pm on Wednesday, 26th September. Standard test methods and corresponding instruments featured include:

  • ASTM D4239, ASTM D5016, D5373 (Mth B), and ISO 19579 for Sulfur or Carbon Determination using the SC832
  • ASTM D5373 (Mth A), ISO 29541, and ISO 16948 for CHN Determination using the CHN628
  • ASTM D5373 (Mth A), ISO 29541, and ISO 16948 for CHN Determination using the CHN628
  • ASTM D7582 and D5142 for Proximate Analysis using the TGA701
  • ASTM D5865, ISO 1928, and ISO 18125 for Gross Calorific Value Determination using the AC600
  • ASTM D1857, ISO 540, and CEN/TS 15370-1 for Ash Fusibility using the AF700
